Job Description
Our client is seeking a Training Specialist to join their team, responsible for onboarding new recruits and supporting ongoing staff development. The role focuses on continuous, hands-on training, mentorship and performance improvement, enhancing product knowledge, consulting efficiency and service excellence across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with managers and team leaders to identify training gaps and areas of improvement.
- Conduct on-the-floor observations and assess performance-related trends.
- Review KPA assessments and use findings to develop training plans.
- Keep abreast of training trends, developments and best practices.
- Develop individual or small group training sessions based on skill level and needs.
- Deliver practical coaching, on-the-job training and refresher courses.
- Create easy-to-understand training manuals, incorporating our SOPs.
- Mentor across all levels through hands-on guidance.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Track development and provide feedback on progress to managers and team leaders.
- Keep up to date with operational and system changes, ensuring they are effectively integrated into training.
- Drive company values and culture through all training and development, encouraging positive staff morale.
- Maintain a positive and energetic attitude – where ideas, views, knowledge and values are shared.

Required Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in Training
- Minimum 5 – 8 years’ experience in a Training/Mentoring role
- Prior experience in an Inbound Tour Operator an advantage
- Strong working knowledge of Southern Africa as a travel destination an advantage
