Job Description

New Business Development: acquiring new clients for Rennies BCD by solution selling and concluding profitable, sustainable sales of our travel management solution tailored to clients operating across the Energy, Resources & Marine (ERM) sectors – including mining, engineering, energy, oil & gas, renewables, marine, shipping, offshore operations and remote infrastructure projects.

This role focuses on delivering specialised corporate travel solutions that support clients with:

• Remote and site-based travel requirements
• Complex operational logistics across mining, energy, oil & gas, marine, shipping, engineering & construction, renewable energy and remote infrastructure projects
• Workforce mobility across multiple locations
• Compliance with industry-specific travel protocols and access requirements
• Crew rotations, offshore crew logistics, vessel crew changes and seafarer travel management
• Port access management, immigration and visa coordination
• Marine fare expertise and charter operations coordination
• Duty of Care solutions
• Traveller risk management
• Emergency travel support
• Workforce tracking and compliance

Required Qualifications

Required:

• Sales/Marketing Diploma (equivalent to an NQF level 6 is preferable)
• 5–8 years travel industry experience, including proven experience in Energy, Resources, Marine, Mining, Engineering or Offshore sectors
• Proven sales and business development experience specific to ERM industries
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills
• Must demonstrate strong critical thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail are imperative

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge Required (non-negotiable):

• Knowledge and proficiency of systems (OBT), applications (Expense Management) and technologies used in the travel industry, including Crew Planning platforms
• Marine fare construction knowledge
• Visa management processes, immigration and border compliance requirements
• Duty of Care platforms and traveller risk management technologies
• Offshore workforce mobility programmes
• Remote-site travel management solutions
• Must be highly proficient in Office 365 products especially Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint but not limited to these MS packages
• Knowledge of business analysis
• Experience in Operational reporting inclusive of Rennies BCD pricing & budgeting
• Travel industry competitive processes and client nuances
• Knowledge and experience in deploying BCD global products, solutions and processes
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects ensuring progress simultaneously, especially in meeting RFP deadlines
• Highly performance driven in a competitive sales and commercial environment
• Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
• A customer-focused approach with effective liaison/interaction skills at an executive level
• Effective presentation skills (including formal presentation skills) along with excellent questioning techniques and listening skills
