Job Description

We Travel Smart is hiring a Sales & Marketing Representative to start immediately. You will sell our platform to travel agencies, with commission on every agency you sign.
 

About us

We Travel Smart is a booking and back-office platform built for South African travel agencies and their agents. Agencies use it to:

• search and book hotels worldwide at live rates
• send clients branded quotations with day-by-day itineraries, viewable online
• issue vouchers, invoices and statements from one place
• keep a record of each customer's bookings and balance
• give every agent in the agency their own login under one subscription

The platform is live, and agencies are booking real business on it every day. Since we began promoting it on travelinfo.co.za, demo requests have grown faster than our team can meet them. That is why we are hiring now.

The role

Your job is to take an agency from first conversation to paying subscriber, then make sure it keeps booking. You will:

• approach independent and franchise travel agencies, in person and by phone, email and WhatsApp
• follow up promptly on demo requests that come in through our marketing
• run product demos at agency offices and online, tailored to how each agency works
• explain subscription options and close agencies onto the platform
• help newly signed agencies through onboarding, so their agents are booking within their first weeks
• visit your accounts regularly to drive bookings and spot agencies ready for more agent seats
• represent We Travel Smart at trade events, roadshows and association meetings
• feed agency feedback and feature requests back to the product team
• keep your pipeline up to date and report weekly on demos, sign-ups and bookings

Required Qualifications

What you need

The one firm requirement is at least 5 years of marketing or sales experience in the travel industry. Beyond that, we are looking for:

• an existing network among travel agency owners and managers
• working knowledge of how an agency runs: quoting, booking, supplier relationships and back-office admin
• a track record of meeting sales or business-development targets
• confidence demonstrating software in front of a room or over a video call
• the discipline to plan your own week and work without daily supervision
• a valid South African driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle
• fluency in English; another South African language is an advantage
• Experience selling to agencies for a consolidator, bed bank, airline, tour operator or travel technology company is a strong advantage.

General Details

What you earn
Pay is commission-based, and your earnings are uncapped. You earn when an agency signs, and again every month it stays subscribed, so the accounts you build keep paying you.

Sign-on commission	Each new agency that subscribes	R1,000 after first payment by agency
Recurring commission	Each month an agency you signed stays subscribed	[5% of its subscription fee for 36 months]

Commission is paid monthly, on subscription fees the agency has paid. Full terms are set out in your contract.
 

You get full product training and your own demo account, [plus a company laptop].
