Job Description

Our client is seeking a Business Development Executive to join their team. The person’s primary responsibility will be new business development, selling advertising to potential clients. They will also be required to maintain an existing book of business, renew these accounts and maintain strong client relations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sell new advertising to potential clients.
• Identify and approach new companies to understand their business and pitch promotional solutions.
• Meet prospecting and meeting targets.
• Maintain and grow existing clients’ advertising spend (developing a small renewal book into a broader client base).
• Update the CRM system daily.
• Consistently reach and exceed sales targets.
• Attend client functions and networking events as required.
• Travel occasionally within South Africa or regionally to secure advertising sales.
• Liaise with the accounts department regarding clients in your portfolio.
• In collaboration with the advertising coordinator, follow up on outstanding advertising material.
• Work closely with the advertising coordinator on ad material requirements.
• Ensure all bookings are signed off prior to adverts running in an issue.
• Adhere to advertising, booking, and material deadlines.
• Uphold the organization’s ethical image and values.
• Be presentable and conduct yourself professionally in line with company policies and guidelines.

R18 500 + Commission & Incentives

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in a similar role
• MUST RESIDE IN CAPE TOWN – NON NEGOTIABLE
• Matric Essential
• Marketing diploma or degree an advantage
• Previous sales experience, preferably in advertising
• Knowledge of freight industry
• Valid driving license and own car – NON NEGOTIABLE
