Job Description
Position Purpose
The main purpose of the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences and exhibitions) Manager is to manage, grow and develop the MICE team within Club Travel Corporate. The manager must provide outstanding customer service, promote the MICE brand and ensure sales growth. The manager must ensure that the financial targets of the division are met and exceeded.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Manage and support the MICE team effectively.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly invoices.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate proposals with destinations reservation hubs.
- Achieve sales and conversion targets on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Ensure all MICE events are executed to customer satisfaction and stay within budget.
- Supervise all event enquiries (existing/new leads) in an accurate, appropriate and timely manner.
- Oversee all event proposals in line with company brand standards, inclusive of creativity and alignment with the company’s core values.
- Maintain thorough and up to date records of all bookings for easy access, filing and auditing purposes.
- Provide timely and accurate information and excellent support to external customers (agents, suppliers and clients).
- Address customer service issues to the customer's satisfaction by implementing appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Provide new and enhanced policies and processes to boost efficiency and ensure compliance.
Finance
- Ensure to achieve the financial targets of the MICE Division.
- Implementation of proper financial controls.
- Ensure accurate costings for MICE events to maintain event profitability.
- Conduct timely reconciliations of MICE events.
- Ensure that clients pay in advance of any large supplier deposits.
Talent Management
- Ensure that staff are developed, trained and motivated to improve and sustain their performance.
Customer/Market
- Manage relationships with MICE suppliers.
- Develop marketing and promotional materials.
- Assist with the collection of payments from MICE debtors.
- Attract new clients by identifying MICE business opportunities.
- Establish and surpass new targets for MICE business growth.
- Expand MICE business opportunities with existing Club Corporate clients.
- Manage relationships and provide support to Hub Managers in delivering MICE business.

Package market related, based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in MICE with 2 years in management position.
- Minimum 3 years in the Travel Industry.
- Minimum Post Matric qualification.
- Travel to site inspections is essential.
- Pxcellent understanding of MICE trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
