ABOUT THE JOB:
AB Travel has a vacancy for an
Assistant Manager: Finance. Applications are invited from people meeting the qualifications and experience requirements set out below. The candidate will be responsible for managing, overseeing and ensuring compliance to accounting principles for the division in support of the financial good governance of the organisation.
CRITICAL PERFORMANCE AREAS:
The incumbent will be responsible to perform the following functions but not limited to;
- Coordinate and monitor the approved budgets for the division to ensure no overspending.
- Certification, verification and co-sign Income statements.
- Administer the Projected Income to monitor financial performance against targets.
- Monitor the period over which debtors take to settle accounts and escalate late payments to management.
- Monitor deferment payment to SARS in line with the scheduled payment dates to avoid penalties and interest.
- Conduct team meetings to ensure sub-ordinates are well informed of latest decisions, etc.
- Submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports on stipulated due dates.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, relevant regulations and legislation in accordance with risk plan and SHE requirements.
- Manage and implement audit recommendation.
- Supervision of sub-ordinates to ensure division's financial operations is in accordance with prescribed processes.
- Provide continuous in-house training to subordinates on all sub-modules (debtors/ creditors/cashbook/disbursement) up to General Ledger accounts (Trial balance) on the QuickTrav systems.
- Develop and implement performance contracts and development plans for sub-ordinates.
- Stay abreast with latest regulations and best practices within financial environment.
Required Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: B. Tech or B.Com degree (with accounting at 3rd level)

General Details
EXPERIENCE:
- 6-8 years’ experience in Travel finance management in a Travel environment, utilizing Quick Software
KNOWLEDGE & FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:
- Understanding of the Travel Operation environment.
- Knowledge of legislation, contract conditions and financial systems (QuickTrav).
- Knowledge of PFMA, VAT act.
