Job Description
As our Relief Manager, you will work across all the departments in the lodge. You will be integral to the success of the lodge by ensuring that the teams are aware of their requirements and continually aiming to exceed expectations. You will ensure that our guests are always receiving a world-class experience.
Here is a little bit more of what will be involved in your day-to-day:
- Anchoring the lodge while the Lodge Manager is not available
- Assisting with health and safety, and the maintenance system
- Assisting with team-related issues
- Monitor, control, and record stock levels for all departments
- Timeous support and communication with other departments
- Assist, if required, with central procurement/deliveries and invoicing
- Hosting and ensuring that guests receive a world-class experience
- Upholding the Thornybush brand and overall operational standards
Requirements:
- No less than 5 years’ experience in an Anchor | Relief Manager | Assistant Lodge Manager role
- Hospitality Diploma | Degree or similar
- Valid Drivers License
- Clear Criminal Record
Technical skills required:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Computer literate
- Basic accounting and/or bookkeeping skill (Xero experience to your advantage)
- Knowledge of reservation systems (Travelyst experience to your advantage)
- Excellent knowledge of Excel will be an advantage
- Proven track record of successfully leading a large team (leading, motivating, coaching etc.)

- Contract type: Permanent
- Site: Saseka in Thornybush Private Nature Reserve
- Work cycle: 6 weeks on : 2 weeks off
- Benefits: Accommodation, Meals (whilst on duty) and Uniform
- Remuneration: Cash + 7,5% contribution to Provident Fund + 50% contribution to Medical Aid
