Position Summary
We are looking for a responsible, driven, and business-oriented Sales and Marketing Executive to represent our multiple clients. You will be responsible for developing airline sales and marketing campaigns to best promote the product to the market. The position also includes planning, implementing, and following up on trade and consumer sales campaigns. 

Working within a small, dynamic team, the successful incumbant is expected to take a proactive, hands-on approach to sales, marketing and account management, while delivering exceptional service to both airline clients and trade partners.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of the key account clients 
• Support and strategic expansion of the local customer base
• Assistance in developing and implementing sales and marketing action plans to increase brand awareness and improve performance
• Achieve agreed sales, revenue and passenger targets for assigned client accounts.
• Conduct regular sales calls and face-to-face meetings with travel agencies, TMCs, tour operators and corporate clients.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the South African market.
• Promote airline products, schedules, fares, ancillary services and promotional campaigns.
• Increase market share through proactive account management and sales initiatives.
• Develop and maintain a structured sales call programme.
• Training and qualification of the various distribution channels
• Market intelligence surveys, data analysis, and development of potential opportunities.
• Regular sales analysis and reporting and continuous client reporting and communication
   

Marketing & Trade Support

• Assist in planning and executing sales and marketing campaigns.
• Organise and support travel agent workshops, product launches, webinars and roadshows.
• Coordinate familiarisation (FAM) trips and educational visits.
• Attend trade exhibitions, networking events and industry functions.
• Support digital marketing, newsletters and social media campaigns.
• Distribute promotional materials and ensure brand consistency.
   

Reporting & Market Intelligence

• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
• Monitor booking trends, competitor activity and market developments.
• Provide market feedback and recommendations to airline clients and management.
• Maintain CRM records and sales databases.
• Assist with forecasting and performance analysis.

Required Qualifications

Qualification:

Key Skills: 

• Diploma in travel and tourism, economics, communication, marketing or related fields
• Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in airline and tourism sales
• Good knowledge and connections with the South African travel trade, including leisure and corporate channels, travel trends, and consumer behaviour
• Strong sales orientation in the airline and tourism sector
• Fluent English (spoken and written) – mandatory
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Experience with travel distribution tools such as GDS and other systems (e.g., MIDT, BSP) will be an advantage
• Proficiency in all MS Office programs (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Availability for occasional travel (domestic and international)
• Resilience and the ability to work under pressure
• Expereince in International Car Rental account management will be an added bonus
• Familiarity with CRM systems
