Description

Consult with Investec clients in order to compile quotes and issue domestic, regional and/or international leisure travel bookings, whilst delivering out of the ordinary client service. Upsell clients on hotels, car hire and travel insurance as needed.  This role requires a deep knowledge of the travel industry and destinations across the globe as well as a passion for travel and aviation combined with a commitment to upholding a clear duty of care and a desire to create memorable experiences for clients.

• Ability to work afterhours emergency shifts (for a 7-day shift) every 4 to 6 weeks on a rotational basis – additional payment applicable
• Ability to achieve the individual targets as set out in the Flight Specialist KPI and performance target
• ADMs are reported as risk events and depending on the quantum and severity, may give rise to a performance process
• Ability to consult on latest visa requirements

Required Qualifications

Qualification:

Experience, skill and capability

• Minimum 10 years travel industry experience in a leisure travel environment.
• Amadeus GDS Proficiency – at least 5 years’ experience and currently using Amadeus.
• Ability to thoroughly qualify an enquiry and build rapport with clients
• Ability to research and recommend products and destinations, accommodations and excursions that meets the clients specifications
• Strong destination, product and industry knowledge
• Ability to book and service NDC bookings through Amadeus NDCx and other providers eg Verteil and others
• Aptitude for internal IT and CRM systems (training will be provided on internal systems)
• Strong knowledge of International / multi-city fares
• Proactive approach to travel (e.g., flight schedule changes / airline grounding, weather / meticulous daily queue management)
• Anticipating client’s challenges and proactively solving
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ownership, Accountability & Responsibility
