Job Description
Consult and advise clients on product and services in Southern Africa and suggest suitable itineraries to meet client expectations. Liaise with agents with clear, prompt and courteous communication. Sell profitably and manage itinerary logistics accurately, focusing on attention to detail and adherence to company procedures and supplier terms and conditions.
- Interpret client’s specifications and requirements and suggest suitable travel itineraries and costings to ensure the clients on the ground experience meets their expectations. Acknowledge your agent as an individual and build trust through providing reliable, prompt, and courteous communication.
- Maintain a consistent high standard of service and communication with internal and external customers, and deliver on commitments. Engage and communicate with customers, suppliers, team leader and extended team in a professional, empathetic, credible and courteous manner.
- Manage the travel file and provide accurate, credible, and prompt costings, confirmations and travel documentation within prescribed deadlines.
- Make reservations with due care and attention to detail in Tourplan in line with internal company processes, adhering to the provisional booking, invoicing and cancellation conditions prescribed by the supplier.
- Issue itineraries and documents for the final travel arrangements within prescribed time limits and subject the travel file to a final check to verify accuracy and quality with the Operations team.
- Accurately invoice bookings within prescribed deadlines to ensure clients client statements are correct
- Maintain positive booking/service profits by managing costs and avoidance of errors
- Development and maintenance of product knowledge, system knowledge and company processes and procedures to increase customer satisfaction. Keep up to date with product and geographical knowledge as well as have a clear understanding of department operating procedures and how to use the company systems including but not limited to Tourplan, Agent Zone, Oasis, TripClip and supplier booking systems.
- Share knowledge with colleagues, new starters and support staff.
- Assist in finding solutions on problem files, where necessary.

Required Qualifications
Qualification:
- Minimum 8 years Inbound tour operator experience
- MS Office
- Tourplan
- Exposure to travel reservations systems
- Financial Acumen – debits, credits, invoicing
- Advanced Southern African Product Knowledge
- Knowledge of Travel Industry, Tourism and Hospitality procedures and processes
