Job Description
About the Brand
WOLO Travel is on a mission to make global travel affordable and unforgettable - capturing customers with strong online content and inspiring them through our retail Experience Centres. We’re a young, dynamic team living by the ethos: We Only Live Once!
About the Opportunity
We’re looking for a Website & SEO Manager to own the build, upkeep, and ongoing optimisation of our web ecosystem - primarily wolotravel.co.za (local) and wolotravel.com (global), plus a handful of campaign and business-unit landing page sites.
Your job is to keep our sites fast, secure, conversion-focused and SEO-friendly, while making it easy for customers to enquire (and eventually book more products online). You’ll work closely with our Marketing team (content, paid media, email) and our external SEO contractor, and ensure our website enquiry flows remain seamless into our CRM.
Reporting to: Marketing Manager
Key Responsibilities
1) Website ownership (WordPress)
- Own day-to-day building and maintenance across WOLO sites (WordPress travel theme + plugins), ensuring everything is stable, secure, and up to date.
- Create, update, and manage webpages, templates, landing pages, and on-site components in line with brand guidelines and campaign needs.
- Manage site structure/navigation and ensure a clean, customer-friendly experience across desktop and mobile.
2) Campaign updates & conversion optimisation
- Execute monthly (and ad hoc) campaign website updates: new landing pages, offers, banners, pricing/product content updates, and promotional content rollout.
- Improve customer journey flows from awareness → consideration → enquiry/conversion, using clear information hierarchy, trust builders, and strong CTAs.
- Continuously optimise key pages for conversion (CRO): layout, messaging, lead forms, FAQs, page speed, and UX improvements.
3) SEO coordination (with contractor)
- Ensure all new pages and updates are SEO-ready (technical basics, metadata, headings, internal linking, indexation, image optimisation).
- Coordinate with our SEO contractor to implement technical recommendations and publish SEO-driven content updates.
- Support content publishing (blogs / evergreen pages) with correct on-page formatting and structure.
4) Tracking, analytics & reporting
- Maintain and improve tracking setup (e.g., events, conversion points, form submissions) in partnership with the Paid Media team.
- Monitor site health and performance (speed, uptime, broken links, lead flow issues), and proactively fix issues.
- Provide monthly website performance notes aligned to campaign and lead outcomes.
5) Integrations, lead flow & future roadmap
- Ensure website enquiries reliably push through to our CRM and all systems remain correctly connected.
- Help scope and implement new customer connection points over time (e.g., improved lead capture, WhatsApp/chat tooling, product pages that support online booking).
- Collaborate cross-functionally on future enhancements (e.g., product bookability, improved UX, integrations with internal systems).
6) Content collaboration
- Work with our content team who supply imagery and copy, while also having enough “basic marketing sense” to sanity-check content for clarity, persuasion, and brand alignment.
- Maintain consistent brand tone and presentation across pages
Salary
ZAR 28,000 per month
Required Qualifications
Qualification:
Our Ideal Candidate
- You’re a builder/owner: you take responsibility for the site like it’s your product.
- Strong instinct for customer psychology - you understand what makes people trust a travel brand and take the next step to enquire/book.
- Detail-oriented (you spot broken links, inconsistent pricing, missing meta titles, weird mobile spacing… before anyone else does).
- Comfortable balancing quick-turn campaign work with longer-term improvements.
- Collaborative, calm under pressure, and happy working with multiple stakeholders.
Experience & Qualifications
- 2–5+ years experience in a web-focused role (Website Manager, WordPress Developer, Digital Producer, CRO Specialist, etc.).
- Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (themes, builders, plugins, updates, backups, security basics).
- Working knowledge of on-page SEO and comfort implementing technical SEO recommendations.
- Understanding of conversion principles (landing page structure, forms, UX, CTAs, trust signals).
- Comfortable working with tracking/analytics basics (e.g., GA4 concepts, conversion events, tag implementations) even if you’re not the paid media specialist.
- Basic HTML/CSS skills are a plus (and the ability to troubleshoot common site issues without panic).
- Travel industry experience (or strong passion for travel) is a big advantage.
