Job Description

The focus of this strategic role is to assure the overall success, execution & expansion of the company goals and its market share in South Africa.
This is a strategic role involving but not limited to cultivating partnerships, customer acquisition strategies, Sales force & Work Force Management, Online Penetration, P&L & Target Management, implementing & monitoring KPI’s, Budget Management, improving Market Share, strategic Brand positioning, Yield & Revenue Management & PLB Management, Supplier & Vendor Management, supporting Team Development.
Reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) for Pan Africa of Travelwings, this is truly a strategic ground-level opportunity to build and grow a Pan African brand. To succeed the candidate must adapt to the changing needs of the business as it evolves, bringing with them a high degree of flexibility, integrity, and a passion for helping consumers plan and purchase travel in an Online Travel World, cognisant of the pandemic era and the ‘fluid’ situation.

General Details

Key Objectives & Responsibilities: 

  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key strategic Affiliates, Partners & Media to drive the customer acquisition strategy for the region
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned territories (South Africa)
  • Managing the assigned responsibilities of the P&L, Budgets, Costs & Revenue for the assigned territories (South Africa)
  • Strategising with the CBDO, the commercial and revenue model that would increase the profitability of the Company keeping in mind the Revenue & Cost per transaction
  • Strategically positioning the brand by increasing brand and consumer awareness, new customer acquisitions, customer retention & gaining Market Share
  • Strategic planning & execution of set milestones and vision of the organization
  • Securing strategic partnerships along with supplier management, cultivating strategic deals with Airlines & Non-Air Suppliers
  • Managing & Monitoring Supplier Targets, PLB & Incentives, revenue streams etc.
  • Ensure that all legal and financial obligations of the Company are met and take action, as necessary to ensure the continued profitable growth of the Company
  • Where there are responsibilities to manage staff, lead and inspire employees, to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, supervise, and motivate subordinates.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Travel Business preferably ecommerce at Senior Management level with significant scale of business & leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of travel fulfillment requirements including knowledge of IATA requirements in the MENA region
