Lesley Simpson Communications (LSC) has been in business for 30 years. We are a Jhb based, boutique PR/marketing agency, specialising in the travel and tourism industry (both inbound & outbound).
Responsibilities:
Basically, anything which helps an easier life for Lesley & her team of PR account executives. This could include:
- Managing clients’ budgets including preparation of paperwork required;
- Ensure receipt of all proofs pertinent to joint ventures entered with travel partners;
- Monthly reporting;
- Logistics when it comes to travelling around the country – this could form part of roadshow planning & preparation;
- Distribution of press releases to key travel trade partners as well as the media; monitoring clippings;
- Back up to clients’ social media postings;
- Distribution of invitations & management of RSVP’s;
- Event assistance including liaison with hotels; flights etc;
- Management of clients’ advertising in B2B publications incl placement & preparation of artwork;
- Ability to manage invoices; tracking & ensure receipt of monies outstanding;
- Database management;
- And lots, lots more!
Our requirements include a marketing assistant and PA to the MD, Lesley; a position well suited to someone who has an understanding of travel marketing including events, advertising & PR. Unfortunately, it will not be suited to the sole expertise of a travel consultant, although managing flights & itineraries will be part of the job description.

Required Qualifications
Qualification:
Must Have’s: This includes:
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the travel industry;
- Marketing knowledge and/or experience/remember LSC’s focus is PR & brand awareness;
- Understanding of social media channels;
- Design elements/power point abilities etc;
- Deadline driven/make things happen;
- Loads of common sense/systems orientated;
- Good attention to detail (cross referencing budgets);
- Loves admin 😊
- Own transport;
- Personality 😊 and a sense of humour

Gauteng
Sandton offices but not in the hub, rather in Peter Place, close to St Stithians school
