Job Description

This role will be responsible for assisting and supporting the travel team with day to day system and online queries. You will work closely with the Systems Manager, Business Support Specialist and the Travel Operational Team Leaders to ensure that all travel systems stay relevant and up-to-date. Help co-ordinate and execute bug fixes and small enhancements and manage relationships with key parties. You will be required to give input to improve on system processes and efficiencies as well as contribute towards innovative concepts, along with training the Travel team on all systems changes.

Assisting the Systems Support Team to develop its requirements, services and products and meet goals with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational and communication skills; strong attention to detail and ability to follow through.  To provide information to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively.

Sales & Servicing Team for first point of escalations. Escalations to Tech Support or Systems Development Manager.  Supports team on bugs and smaller enhancements to ensure systems stay relevant and necessary updates are done in time.  Monthly reporting on all bugs and enhancements to Systems Development Manager.  Daily maintenance of all Travel systems.  Support final testing for new projects.  Support testing in bug fixes.  Test any sales team related queries before escalating further.  Create training manuals for all Travel Systems.  Upkeep of manuals and processes during changes.  Provide systems training for new and existing travel team staff.

Required Qualifications

Qualification:

Matric.

GDS certification (Galileo preferred).

Min 3 years’ Technical support experience in Travel Industry.

Other Technical support roles beneficial.

GDS certification (Galileo preferred).

Broad knowledge of travel system capabilities and integrations.

Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

A passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change.  Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach.   A good understanding of information technology.

Travel Agency in Johannesburg.

Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm

Some after hour escalation assistance may be required as and when system issues occur.  System deployments (builds) as required, generally on a Sunday morning (time required for testing may vary depending on the deployment)
