Thailand continues to offer tourist incentives

Thailand is continuing to offer US$10 000 free insurance cover to tourists, should they be harmed in riots or demonstrations.
Other incentives include a waiver on all visa fees, US$1 000 daily to tourists who are hospitalised for more than 10 days as a result of riots, and free medical treatment. If tourists face travel delays due to rioting, they will receive US$100 for every day they are delayed. The move is in an effort to increase tourism following a decline in 2009, mainly as a result of safety fears. This policy will be in effect until March 2011.
